Doodle Art Workshop | Hyderabad

You know that feeling when you feel so happy and nothing can pierce through that bubble? This is how I felt after taking an amazing doodle art workshop over the weekend. The workshop was in collaboration with HobbMobb, a hobby group on Instagram. The workshop held at Jxtapose, a creative co-working and studio space based out of Hyderabad, India.

What was it all about?

The workshop was a beginner’s introduction to doodling and drawing patterns. I prepared a couple of worksheets and guides for the students to work on. We went through materials, types and sizes of pens to use, drawing and coming up with patterns and finally, coming up with a doodle for a personalized bookmark. I loved the enthusiasm and energy of the students to learn and come up with their own doodles and patterns.

Workshop in Action

I always have and still believe a practical approach to things which is why the workshop was highly hands-on. After explaining a few concepts and how to come up with designs, each of the participants got to practice their doodles and then create their very own bookmarks. I was amazed at the creativity and ideas of each of them, and couldn’t be any prouder of the lot.

Final Thoughts

I have always believed in sharing knowledge, and this workshop was the perfect opportunity for me. I broke out of my comfort zone; I was always wary of teaching, but this experience of teaching a bunch of students made me feel absolutely confident about myself. I was left with great feedback from each of the participants and was flooded with requests for another workshop really soon. See what I meant when the opening line spoke about the happiness bubble? This is exactly what it was. The joy of teaching, the joy of seeing beautiful work and the joy of great feedback.

There are more workshops in the offing, and the excitement levels are just jumping off the roof for me. Here’s to more workshops and to meeting more talented and fun people. And to getting ahead with my goals for 2018! 🙂

Until the next blog post,

(PS. A few more snapshots from the event right below. Also, ignore my weird as hell expressions, I suck on cameras 😛 )
